The mobile game Pokémon GO is still going strong in 2019, and the first major in-game event of the year has just been announced. This event will focus on Hoenn Pokémon originally from the Ruby and Sapphire games.

Niantic recently revealed the game’s upcoming Hoenn event, which will last from January 15 at 1:00pm PST/4:00pm EST to January 29 at 1:00pm PST/4:00pm EST. During those two weeks, Hoenn Pokémon will appear in the wild more frequently than usual, and Field Research will focus on the Third Generation as well. Additionally, Legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn region, like Groudon and Kyogre, will become available once again as Raid Bosses and Hoenn Pokémon will be more likely to hatch from 7km Eggs.

But wait, there’s more! Any Shroomish that evolves into a Breloom during this two-week period will learn the move Grass Knot, a move that it can’t otherwise learn in the game. Also, Shiny Zigzagoon and Shiny Taillow will be introduced into the game, giving you Shiny collectors something to look forward to. Lastly, new clothing items for players’ in-game avatars will be available that are based off of the outfits of Ruby and Sapphire villain teams, Team Magma and Team Aqua respectively.
